The summons issued to the consignee should mention that it is taken as representative of the carrier and not in his own name
The consignee acts as agent of the owner, represents and is entitled to receive judicial or extrajudicial documents which may be served to the captain. But according to a classical jurisprudence, issued summons to the consignee should mention that it is taken as representative of the carrier and not in his own name.
